Sorry I never got to the Mei flowers! Well Mei Mei is Chinese for little sister and we are thinking we will name her Lily (flower) or Lily Shamiao. Pronounced Sa meow or at least that is what they tell us. so we will see when we get there.
Sha: “Sa” –means “sand” or “czar”
Miao: “Meow” – means wonderful, excellent, fine; ingenious, clever & subtle
We are still tossing a few names around but this one may be the one! =)

Mei Flowers

2:27 sent an e-mail asking to get more information on the cutest little girl.
How did I get to that point you ask... Well after many months (years really) of disappointments with the county. April was particularly bad, lots of tears (showers). I saw a post on one of my yahoo groups saying this agency AAC had a large list of special needs children. We really thought the county would come through for us and had no plans of adopting from China again. I did not think Mike would be open to it, really. But I had to take a peek!
That brings us to May 11th, I clicked on the name Macy on the list and what popped up was the cutest little face and a small description of her special need. VSD a heart issue Hmm... I did not know much about VSD but I did not think Mike would even consider it any way, but I knew a lot of people on our yahoo group how had adopted children with heart issues.2:27 I sent a short email asking if I could get more info on her. 5:31 I received her file. I made a few calls to find out what I could and then I showed it to Mike. He said lets see what the Doctor says, to my surprise.
May 12th I sent her File to our Doctor and waited. His response was very good.
May 13th I sent an email to AAC to check to see if she had found her family. I had really done a self defence thing talking myself in to believing it was not going to happen and thinking he would never agree and her medical from the doctor was not going to be good or she had found her family or we were holding out for the county and how many times had I gotten my hopes up (not this time).
May 14th 2:12 Received word she was still available. I was shocked!! I talked to Mike and asked what his thoughts were he said he felt we needed to go for it. I was shocked!!!
So on May 14, 2009 7:30pm We accepted her referral. =) We are so excited to announce our beautiful daughter B. Shamiao she is 22lbs. 32in. (near Hong Kong) We so Blessed! We now start the long wait and lots of paper work! It will take 9 to 12 months!
AAC sent our preliminary applications to China on May 18th. We have to wait for IA Initial Approval from China before we can start the paperwork. It usually takes 1 - 2 weeks. Fingers crossed for next week!!!
